The John Hunt Morgan Camp Remembers Pvt. Alfred Hardin
For over a century, Pvt. Hardin's grave had gone unmarked. At long last, that injustice has been corrected.
Through the efforts of Clifford and Adam, with the assistance of the several of their fellow Morgan Camp members, a Confederate veteran's marker was ordered and installed to mark the final resting place of this Confederate hero.
Pvt. Alfred Hardin enlisted on October 14, 1861, into Company F, 1st Kentucky Cavalry, in Union, Kentucky. He was later transferred to the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry.
Ironically, Alfred's father, whose grave was marked, enlisted in the Union army at the age of 57, but died of typhoid fever only three months later. Deo Vindice!
