We are not a hate-group, nor are we elitists. We are non-partisan in every nature. The main goal of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is to see to it that the ideals for which our ancestors so bravely fought more than a century ago, the feats which they proudly accomplished, and most importantly, our ancestors themselves will never be forgotten.


Q: When and where does your camp meet?

A: The John Hunt Morgan Camp does not have a regularly scheduled meeting place or meeting time. However, there is a scheduled camp event or meeting almost every moth of the year. For the latest information on upcoming events and meetings, please check our home page.

Q: How much are dues?

A: Dues for membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans vary by camp. The annual membership dues for the John Hunt Morgan Camp are $45, which covers all applicable national and division dues.

Q: Can I sign up for a life membership?

A: Currently, the John Hunt Morgan Camp does not offer a life membership. However, life memberships may be obtained at the division and national levels for $100 and $500, respectively. National and division life members must pay $15 to renew their membership in the John Hunt Morgan Camp annually.

Q: Can I deduct my dues on my tax returns?

A: The John Hunt Morgan Camp 1342, Sons of Confederate Veterans, is a charitable, not-for-profit organization, exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. While you may make a tax-deductible donation to the camp, your dues are never deductible for income tax purposes.

Q: How do I make a donation to the camp?

A: The John Hunt Morgan Camp welcomes your support! Anyone may make a donation of any size at any time by sending their check, made payable to the John Hunt Morgan Camp 1342, to David L. Harbolt, Adjutant; John Hunt Morgan Camp 1342; 2070 Garden Springs Dr., Apt. 10; Lexington, KY 40504.
